And third, some have paid for this commitment by being purged from institutions that have become increasingly hostile to unorthodox thought — and have found receptive audiences elsewhere.The point made in the above quote can't be made clear enough. These are a diverse group of people bound together by little more than their insistence on civility and intellectual honesty. Yet, I've come across several articles which give them inaccurate labels in order to peg them political enemies.
